New Electric Service
 

 

CEC is committed to providing reliable electric service to its members. CEC provides electric service to rural areas in parts of six counties including; Covington, Coffee, Dale, Escambia, Geneva and Crenshaw. CEC maintains more than 2,600 miles of power lines. If you are new to the CEC membership, please review the information provided below.
 

New Service (required deposits, etc.)
1) Deposit requirements of Covington Electric Cooperative shall be as follows:

(a) For houses, mobiles homes, pumps and related type services (new service and/or new accounts) with ID and good credit information: 
Membership Fee: $5.00
Security Deposit: $50.00
Connection Fee: $30.00 (non-refundable)
Total: $85.00

(b) For houses, mobiles homes, pumps and related type services (new service and/or new accounts) without ID and good credit information: 
Membership Fee: $5.00
Security Deposit: $165.00 or two months, high average, bill (whichever is greater), 
Connection Fee: $30.00 (non-refundable) 
Total: $200.00 


Security Lights

Security Lighting units are available in all areas served by CEC, meeting Cooperative rules and regulations and is readily accessible for maintenance. 

Security Light Installation
The Cooperative will furnish and install a Security Light lighting unit on a pole or other suitable fixture within 150 feet of available service facilities, will make all necessary connections, and will furnish electricity for the operation of the unit; provided that in the event the location of the security light requires the setting of a pole, the member shall reimburse the Cooperative for the cost of the pole. The Cooperative will maintain the lighting unit; however, the Member may be required to reimburse the Cooperative for any maintenance work which is required because of vandalism. 

Terms of Payment

Payment is due within 10 days of notice. If payment becomes delinquent a collection fee will be charged and/or service will be discontinued.
