CEC sponsors two students to attend 2007 Co-op Youth Conference

CEC recently sponsored two students to attend the 2007 Co-op Youth Conference held at the Alabama 4-H Center in Columbiana, Ala.

Brandon Jeter, a junior at Straughn High School, and Stephanie Morgan, a junior at Pleasant Home High School, participated in the three-day conference which is organized by the Alabama Council of Cooperatives.

The conference provides an opportunity for students to study the cooperative form of business and its economic impact on society. Participants also take part in activities to build leadership skills.

CEC Bill Statement Change in May

CEC electric bills will reflect a change in line item charges effective May 1, 2007. The facilities charge ($20.17), killowatt usage and power cost adjustment will be combined in a single line item. Merging these items into a single energy charge will help simplfy the billing statement.

Elmores represent CEC at conference

The 32nd Annual Co-op Couples Conference was held July 23-25, in Orange Beach, Ala. The conference is organized by the Alabama Council of Cooperatives.

CEC members Chad and Jennifer Elmore of Opp represented CEC at this year’s conference. They joined approximately 26 other couples from across the state for the three-day event. The conference provides an opportunity for young couples in the agriculture industry to gain more insight as to how cooperatives can assist them with their businesses.
